KINGS POINT AMENITIES

kpch.jpg (37176 bytes)The main gate to Kings Point is located at the intersection of Sun City Center Blvd. (State Road 674) and Kings Blvd. in Sun City Center, Florida (zip code 33573). The entrance is guarded 24/7 and visitors must be registered before they are allowed to enter our community. The main clubhouse is located just to the right of the main gate. This clubhouse includes both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa (hot tub), sauna, exercise rooms, bingo hall, large theatre, billiards room, hobby shops, computer room, cafe and more. Outdoors, you will find tennis and shuffleboard courts, a horseshoe pit, plus lawn bowling. The theatre features performances by well-known artists and Broadway productions.

The South Clubhouse is located off Newpoint Loop, about two miles south of the main gate. It also features indoor and outdoor pools, modern exercise room, computer room, cafe, banquet/meeting rooms, volleyball, pickle ball and basketball courts and more. It is located adjacent to the new Scepter championship golf course. Most of the newer homes in Kings Point are being built in this vicinity.

There are three golf courses inside our gated community. The first one that you will see driving south along Kings Blvd. is the Kings Point Executive Course. This was the first course built in Kings Point and was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The second course, in the center of the community, is Falcon Watch with 27 holes spread over three distinct nines that start and end at the club house. On the south side of Kings Point, next to the south clubhouse, is our newest course, Scepter with 18 holes.

While everyone who lives in Kings Point is not retired, the majority are. If you think this means they sit at home and watch TV all day, you would be very wrong. There are many clubs with different activities from ceramics to Tai Chi. There are computer rooms in both club houses where you can check your email or surf the web. Both clubhouses feature wi-fi zones that are provided free of charge by the computer club.

If you don't feel like driving, or feel you can no longer do so safely, you can use the transportation system to get around the community, or go shopping. Bus trips are run on almost a daily basis to shopping malls, beaches and dinner theaters. The public bus system stops at our clubhouse and can take you to the Publix supermarket, the new Super Walmart or the Brandon Mall (over 100 stores).

If you are just planning on retirement and wondering what you will be doing when you leave work, the answer lies in what you are currently doing with your free time. If you are a weekend golfer, you will be playing more often. If you like to surf the internet, you will have more time to do that. Both DSL and high-speed digital cable connections are available in Kings Point. The computer club has a volunteer help desk in Sun City Center. There are excellent libraries in Kings Point and Sun City Center. You will be surprised at the amount of activities that are available. It is often said that residents here don't have the free time to feel like they are retired.
